Great Things are Happening In Punxsutawney and Your Business Can Be A Part of It!

Retail and Service Development

The Punxsutawney Regional Development Corporation (PRDC), the Chamber of Commerce, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania are transforming an historic, 100-year-old downtown anchor building - the J.B. Eberhart Company Building - into academic space and prime first floor retail space.

On October 27, 2006, IUP announced the partnership with PRDC and the Chamber as a major step in the revitalization of the community's business district.

IUP has named the building "The Fairman Centre" in honor of a gift from the Roy and Alan Fairman families.

Learn more about the Fairman Centre and how your business can find a home in the Weather Capital of the World today!

Additional retail and office space is located throughout the business districts of Punxsutawney.

Industrial Development

The Punxsutawney Industrial Park is located on the border of Punxsutawney Borough and Young Township in Jefferson County. The park is a fully developed, 44-acre tract ideally suited for light industrial and warehouse/distribution facilities. All utilities are on-site and property tax abatements are available through the Pennsylvania State KOZ program.

The park is located less than one mile from U.S. Route 119, 18 miles from Interstate 80, and 25 miles from the DuBois Regional Airport, a designated general purpose Foreign Trade Zone and a scheduled-service airport offering flights to the Pittsburgh International Airport, a major US Airways hub.

The Punxsutawney area offers a skilled, dedicated workforce; quality training programs; competitive real estate taxes; and reasonable land costs - all of which make the Punxsutawney Industrial Park the ideal choice for start-up businesses, expansions, or relocations.

For more information on available industrial sites, contact PRDC at frankroberts555@comcast.net, by calling 1-800-752-PHIL, 814-938-5000, or by writing to:
