A Valentine's Couples Retreat will be held at Laurel Lake Retreat & Conference Center on Feb. 12-14 starting at 7:00 pm on Friday and ending at 10:00 am on Sunday. Come and enjoy the camp,beautiful motel style rooms,couple's time in the hot tub,and a peaceful walk in the snow covered woods. Snowman in the Forest Day sponsored by the Cook Forest Vacation Bureau is Saturday, February 20, 2010. This event is held on River Road from 11:30-2:30 pm. This is a fun filled day for the entire family. There is a Chili Cook-off Contest, Hiking, Ice Skating, Building of Snow Men, Sled Riding, Reindeer Rides and a visit from Smokey the Bear. There is a Snowman contest held throughout the the Cook Forest Area, with many of the local business sponsoring. More details on this contest and this day of fun can be found on Cookforest.org

The 4th annual Celtic Festival at Thistle & Pine will be Saturday, October 4. The event will feature Highland Dancers, Bagpiping, "The Best Legs in a Kilt" Contest, Free Gaelic Classes as well as other fine entertainment.
