Meet the New Superintendent A picnic will be held to give students, parents, teachers, citizens, and the business community an opportunity to meet the new superintendent of the Punxsutawney School District on Thursday, September 2 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the entrance to the football stadium behind Punxsutawney Area Senior High School. Complimentary hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served. |

Support Group starting Sept. 8, 2010 at Mulberry Square, 411 ½ West Mahoning St. in Punxsutawney. The group is for those who want to connect with other families and caregivers who are dealing with the disease and reduce feelings of isolation. The group can also help you learn techniques that can help ease the physical and emotional burden for both patient and caregiver and share practical ideas and feelings in a supportive setting. Pizza & Prevention will be held on Oct 2, 2010 this year all day long at Fox's Pizza Den in Punxsutawney. A new feature will be "Touch the Truck' so that residents can see the life-saving equipment used by the PFD. Once again the Big Daddy pizzas will be $9.11 with 100% of the money going to the PFD. Smoke detectors will be available for those in need. |

The 4th annual Celtic Festival at Thistle & Pine will be Saturday, October 4. The event will feature Highland Dancers, Bagpiping, "The Best Legs in a Kilt" Contest, Free Gaelic Classes as well as other fine entertainment.
